We work extensively with major labels (Columbia, Atlantic) and labels with major distribution (Astralwerks, Octone, Vice), but we also specialize in helping smaller labels like Merge, Polyvinyl, Fat Wreck Chords, Sub Pop, and Side One Dummy get the word out about their artists and videos. We even help many independent artists with no label affiliation at all. We can promote your music video to select national and regional video shows, retail video pools (outlets that provide in store music video reels to retailers), night clubs, video-on-demand providers, and various high-profile Internet outlets. These have proliferated and grown rapidly to the point where an Internet presence is an absolute must for a successful music video campaign.
Skull Video also offers a video submission service to MTV. While MTV programming is very difficult to sec
ure, we work diligently to get the video airplay at MTV2, Subterranean (formerly 120 Minutes), MTV.com, MTVu, which is seen on over 900 college campuses nationwide, and Viacom's newest acquisition, LOGO, which is seen nationwide. When applicable, we will submit your video to VH1, CMT, and MTVTres. HIP Video Promo will discuss the different options available and then complete the submission forms necessary to have the video go into their weekly programming meeting. Fuse is also another option, which has become a genuine force to be reckoned with. Fuse's ratings nationwide have grown rapidly, giving MTV a run for their money. Special attention will also be shown to other high profile national outlets, such as: Music Choice, MTV Latin America, Fuel TV, Havoc TV, The A&R Channel, and Much Music in Canada.
Regionally, our goal will be to achieve extensive and sustained airplay of your video. Programmers will be made fully aware of the video with promotional tracking calls, e-mail, contest information and tour itineraries of the artist. The artist will also be featured on this site. Special promotions will be pitched to market shows like Power Play Music Television, Music Mix USA, Video Jam, and R&R TV.
On the Internet, we have long standing relationships with the established music video providers, like Yahoo Music, Blastro.com, Blender.com, Billboard.com, iFilm.com, SingingFool.com, and MTV.com. We have also reached out to the plethora of New Media outlets like ManiaTV!, Paste Magazine, and AOL Music, and are constantly monitoring the latest trends. We have capability to convert your video to Quicktime, .avi, .mpg, or .wmv, swf, flv (including the newest H264 MPEG4 compressions). This allows us to submit your video to sites such as MySpace and YouTube, which have recently become very popular spots for viewing video. This also allows you to use the video in any web-based environment you desire.
We don't neglect the personal touch, either. Paul and his staff maintain very friendly relations with all the important point people at the national outlets (MTV, Fuse etc.), but never take for granted the many video programmers and programming opportunities in all the little corners of the music video community. These secondary and tertiary markets are important, since this is where organic, grass roots support for a new and upcoming artist is many times originally generated. Each year Paul makes his cross-country pilgrimage to visit programmers all over the USA. With this kind of personal attention you can be assured that your video getting out to the public.
